A new website has launched for men who have lost someone to breast cancer.
"Much has been written by women for women on the subject of breast cancer, but there is not much available for men who have lost their partner to breast cancer," said Alan L. Simons, the Toronto-based author who launched www.breastcancerinlovingmemory.info.
Simons lost his partner to breast cancer after just 18 months together.
When they met, she had been in remission for several of years, but a few months into their relationship, the cancer came back.
"To this day I have many questions about my own relationship with my partner that I have difficulty in answering. There have been many times that I've been asked to explain why I so readily agreed to embrace a relationship that was thwarted in terminality," said Simons.
Simons said the aim of the site is to let men who have lost someone to breast cancer to share their stories and find emotional support.
